2026-27 UEFA Nations League: League B2 – Northern Ireland vs Georgia

Northern Ireland host Georgia in a top-vs-bottom showdown in League B2 in the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League.

Victory or a draw would see Northern Ireland stay top of League B2 heading into the final two matches in mid-November 2026.

Georgia will remain bottom of the group irrespective of the result, but defeat would mean that they can’t challenge for automatic promotion to League A in their final two group matches.

Team News

Tom Atcheson and Brodie Spencer are unlikely to start for Northern Ireland after the pair missed the final training session due to minor knocks.

Georgia have no fresh injury or suspension concerns following their 1-0 away defeat against Hungary.

When is Kick-Off?

Northern Ireland host Georgia at Windsor Park, Belfast, on Monday 5 October at 7:45pm BST, live on BBC One Northern Ireland, BBC Three (all regions) and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Prediction

Sat top of League B2, Northern Ireland have a great chance to put automatic promotion in their own hands going into November’s final two group matches if they continue to play with the same resilience, unity and composure which has served them well in their first three matches.

Georgia meanwhile surprisingly changed managers after their opening defeat at home to Northern Ireland, but that move doesn’t seem to have worked out too well with a draw and defeat in their last two games, so they will have a serious point to prove in a tough test,

I honestly expect Georgia to try and make this scrappy but given Northern Ireland’s solid defensive organisation and impressive attacking intensity in their win over Ukraine, I fancy the hosts to nick this such is their level of confidence.

Prediction: Northern Ireland 1-0 Georgia

Result: Northern Ireland 0-0 Georgia
