DAZN have signed a contract extension to retain F1 broadcasting rights in Andorra, Portugal and Spain until 2030.
DAZN’s broadcast rights in Andorra and Spain were initially set to expire at the end of this season and after next season in Portugal, but the streaming service have agreed new four-year extensions for Andorra and Spain plus a three-year extension in Portugal to align the rights until the end of 2030.
DAZN will show live coverage of every F1 session on a race weekend across all three countries, alongside coverage of F2, F3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup support categories.
F1 Chief Media Rights and Content Creation Officer, Ian Holmes is “delighted with the extension given the growth across all three countries, especially in the young demographics.
“DAZN has played an important role in the growth of Formula 1 across these markets, particularly among younger and more diverse audiences, combining excellent live coverage with compelling storytelling that brings fans closer to our sport. Over the coming years, we’re excited to build on what we have achieved together so far.”
DAZN Iberia CEO, Óscar Vilda added that F1 is amongst their “cornerstones” of live sport coverage so is “incredibly proud” to secure the contract extension, with promise of continued quality coverage.
