Turkey look to finish on a high in their concluding Group D clash against USA at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Turkey are already eliminated from the tournament, whilst USA will advance to the knockout stages as Group D winners.
Team News
Turkey have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-0 loss against Paraguay.
USA manager, Mauricio Pochettino too has no fresh injury concerns after a 2-0 win over Australia, with Christian Pulisic set to be rested after recovering from a calf injury.
Tyler Adams, Folarin Balogun, Chris Richards and Antonee Robinson are also set to be left out of the starting line-up, with the quartet one booking away from an one-match suspension.
When is Kick-Off?
Turkey face USA at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, on Thursday 25 June at 7pm PDT (3am, Friday 26 June), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Turkey’s first World Cup meeting against USA.
- USA have avoided defeat in three of five previous meetings against Turkey in all competitions (W2, D1, L2).
- Turkey have failed to score any goals from 62 shots in their first two group matches, of which 13 of those shots were converted onto target.
- Folarin Balogun has scored twice from three shots on target in USA’s first two group matches.
Prediction
Already eliminated after two wasteful performances in which they had the attacking quality and product minus the finishing touches needed to score goals, Turkey know that this is a free hit and chance to salvage some pride from a disastrous tournament by their standards.
USA meanwhile have already won the group so this is basically a chance to rotate and experiment whilst keeping the legs of key players fresh for the knockout stage, but I still expect them to put out a strong performance to maintain momentum and impress the home crowd.
The dead rubber vibe though dampens the spirit of this match-up but I do think that the USA will have enough to snatch a draw.
Prediction: Turkey 1-1 USA
Result: Turkey 3-2 USA
