Play-Off chasing Oldham Athletic host automatic promotion chasing MK Dons in a massive Easter Monday showdown in 2025-26 Sky Bet League Two.
Victory would see Oldham climb to seventh if Chesterfield fail to win at Barrow, whilst MK Dons can move to within two points of league leaders, Bromley with a win as the Ravens don’t play until Tuesday evening.
Team News
Oldham have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-1 victory at Colchester on Good Friday.
Reagan Ogle (head) could be available if fit for selection but Michael Mellon (hamstring), Tom Conlon (knee) and Jake Caprice (unspecified) are expected to again remain sidelined.
MK Dons could be without forward, Callum Paterson after he suffered a nose injury during their goalless draw against Barrow.
Will Collar, Jay Matete (both hamstring) and Kane Wilson (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Oldham host MK Dons at Boundary Park on Easter Monday 6 April at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Oldham have won just one of their last 11 league meetings against MK Dons (W1, D2, L8).
- MK Dons have won four of their last five visits to Oldham (W4, L1).
- Two of Oldham’s last five home matches against MK Dons ended in 2-1 defeats.
- Oldham haven’t conceded in their last five home matches (W5).
- MK Dons haven’t gone three consecutive league matches without a goal since April – August 2025.
Prediction
Despite being outplayed at Colchester in attack, Oldham crucially were clinical and are now just one point off the last play-off spot but will now need to prove those credentials in a tough test given their poor record against MK Dons by putting together another clinical display.
MK Dons meanwhile missed a chance to close in on league leaders – Bromley, but now have the advantage of playing before the Ravens which is something that they must take if want to stop the goalscoring blanks of their last two games so this game is ideal timing given their form against the Latics.
Boundary Park however isn’t an easy place to go and with a lot at stake for both teams who can’t afford any slip up here, I can see this being a difficult nervy game so a draw wouldn’t be a surprise.
Prediction: Oldham 1-1 MK Dons
Result: Oldham 1-1 MK Dons
