Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Igor Tudor as manager via mutual consent following a disastrous spell in charge.

Tudor arrived at Tottenham on an interim appointment until the end of the season but oversaw one point from five Premier League matches in charge, which has left the club sat one point above the drop with seven matches left in the season to preserve their top-flight status.

Last Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at home to relegation rivals, Nottingham Forest proved to be the final straw for the club board who have relieved Tudor of his duties with immediate effect, despite Tudor having learned of the death of his father immediately at full time.

That loss also came just as Tottenham had began to turn a corner for the first time under Tudor after four consecutive defeats, having claimed a 1-1 draw at Tottenham in the Premier League then beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 at home in the second leg of their Champions League exit on aggregate.

In a club statement, Tottenham confirmed Tudor’s exit alongside Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci who were Goalkeeping and Physical Coaches respectively.

“We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the Club with immediate effect.

“Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach.

“We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly. We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time.

“An update on a new Head Coach will be provided in due course.”
