2025-26 League Two: Week 39 – Bromley vs Colchester

Bromley continue their historic League Two campaign against Colchester United at Copperjax Stadium.

Should MK Dons defeat Barnet in the lunchtime kick-offs, victory would return Bromley to the summit of League Two.

Colchester meanwhile can go 11th with a win if Oldham and Barnet both lose elsewhere.

Team News

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-0 win at Newport, with Ben Thompson set to return after he was given a rest and left out of the matchday squad in midweek.

Kyle Cameron (ankle) and Michael Cheek (hamstring) are still not expected to be available for selection.

Colchester could again be without midfielder, Teddy Bishop after he was absent in their 1-0 loss at MK Dons on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

Ellis Iandolo (fitness) is a doubt but Milton Oni (ACL) and Ben Perry (Cruciate Ligament) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bromley host Colchester at Copperjax Stadium on Saturday 21 March at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Despite having produced one of their worst performances of the season at Newport in which they were outran and outpressed by the Exiles in large periods of the game, Bromley ultimately had that crucial final touch to snatch the win but they have to simply be much sharper here.

Their defensive guile in that game though stands them well coming into this match because if this fixture is anything like the reverse fixture of last November, I can see them having to defend a lot and be clinical once again if want victory.

Colchester meanwhile were unlucky not to get anything at MK Dons on Wednesday evening for their defensive effort despite being convincingly outplayed, so I do expect them to mount a response but they must bring more attacking quality in spite of their poor away form.

Bromley however will have the advantage of an extra-day’s preparation but Colchester definitely won’t make this easy, so I expect a good game although Bromley’s extra freshness could make the difference if can keep producing a grinder of a performance.

Prediction: Bromley 1-0 Colchester

Result: Bromley 1-0 Colchester
