2025-26 Premier League: Week 28 – Wolves vs Aston Villa

Rock-bottom Wolves face top-three chasing Aston Villa in a Premier League clash at Molineux.

Rob Edwards’ Wolves will remain rock bottom of the table irrespective of the result, whilst Villa will stay third but a win could move them to within seven points of leaders, Arsenal.

Team News

Ladislav Krejci is suspended for Wolves following his red card in their 1-0 loss at Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Hwang Hee-Chan (calf) remains absent.

Harvey Elliott is still ruled out for Villa after he missed their 1-1 draw at home to Leeds due to a knock.

Marco Bizot is back from his one-match suspension, but Youri Tielemans (ankle), Alysson, John McGinn and Boubacar Kamara (all knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Villa at Molineux on Friday 28 February at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Having weathered an initial strong start from Palace, Wolves steadily grew into the match but just simply lacked the clinical final touches needed to beat Dean Henderson – including from the penalty spot, so they ideally need to find more composure if want to win this game and keep their discipline.

Villa meanwhile were simply frustrated by a clinical but defensively resilient Leeds performance so to snatch a late draw is testament to how well they kept plugging away late on for the equaliser, but they ideally need to just keep up their away form if want to avoid getting sucked into the chasing pack.

Wolves though do seem to be more solid with their identity so this might be a slightly tougher test than Villa might expect, although I do think that they will have enough quality for the win despite their recent form at Molineux.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Aston Villa

Result: Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa
