2025-26 League Two: Week 26 – Tranmere vs Bromley

Tranmere Rovers face a tricky test against leaders, Bromley in a standout fixture on a depleted weekend of Sky Bet League Two action.

Victory could see Tranmere climb as high as 12th after Accrington Stanley and Oldham’s games were postponed, whilst Bromley can move five points clear at the summit with a win because Swindon aren’t in action.

Team News

Tranmere have no fresh injury concerns to report following the postponement of their trip to Newport due to a frozen pitch last weekend.

Luke McGee (hip), Josh Williams (knee) and Lee O’Connor (unspecified) remain absent.

Bromley could be without Michael Cheek after he was substituted in their New Year’s Day home win over Newport with an unspecified injury, with their subsequent home game against Oldham postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Carl Jenkinson remains sidelined with a hip injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Tranmere host Bromley at Prenton Park on Saturday 10 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Despite losing three of their last five matches, Tranmere know that this is a big opportunity to climb up the table and move to within five points of the final play-off spot but they will need to cut out the defensive errors if want just a fourth home win of the league campaign.

Bromley meanwhile will be thankful that their home game was Oldham was postponed because it has given them a breather after a busy festive period, which certainly caught up with them in their last outing because they weren’t at their best but they crucially grinded out a clinical win.

Cheek also picked up an injury in that game but with no further news released by club officials, I expect him to be fit otherwise Nicke Kabamba needs to step up because Bromley have won just one game in which he started this season (W1, D5, L2), which is a worry when they’re yet to beat Tranmere at EFL level.

My instinct though is that they will need to keep Patrick quiet given his recent goalscoring record against them, but if they can tighten up at the back unlike in the home fixture earlier this season, I can see them grinding out another win.

Prediction: Tranmere 1-2 Bromley

Result: Tranmere 0-2 Bromley
