2025-26 Premier League: Week 21 – Everton vs Wolves

Everton face a tricky test against relegation-battling Wolves at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Victory would lift Everton as high as eighth if results elsewhere go in their favour, whilst Wolves remain rock bottom regardless of the result.

Team News

Everton have no fresh injury concerns following their 4-2 loss at home to Brentford.

Carlos Alcaraz (unspecified), Idrissa Gueye, Iliman Ndiaye (both international duty), Seamus Coleman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jarrad Branthwaite (all hamstring) remain sidelined.

Wolves could have Hwang Hee-Chan (calf) and Joao Gomes (groin) in contention despite the pair having limped out of their 3-0 home win against West Ham last Saturday (3 January).

Emmanuel Agbadou (international duty), Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Toti Gomes (both hamstring), Marshall Munetsi (calf), Daniel Bentley (ankle), Leon Chiwone (ACL) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Everton host Wolves at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Wednesday 7 January at 7:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports F1 in the UK.

Prediction

Having lost their home clash against Brentford through sloppy pieces of defending, Everton need to just be more sharply focused when defending within their marking of the oppositional forwards but equally more composed up front when still in the game.

Wolves meanwhile finally seemed to have clicked under Rob Edwards because their attack had a proper intensity and desire not seen yet this season from them, which simply ripped West Ham’s defence apart so they now need to bring that same quality if want to further ignite any homes of a miraculous escape.

I however do expect Everton to be much tighter to break down but if Wolves bring their same intensity as saw at the weekend, I fancy them to at least get a point here if not victory if the Toffees are again loose at the back.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Wolves

Result: Everton 1-1 Wolves
