2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 26 – Monday

Leicester City meet West Bromwich Albion in a mid-table showdown in the 2025-26 Sky Bet Championship.

Victory would lift Leicester up to 12th in the table, whilst West Brom can move as high as 14th if beat their hosts by three goals or more.

Team News

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United on New Year’s Day.

Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), Harry Winks (personal), Victor Kristiansen, Boubakary Soumare (both knee) and Harry Souttar (Achilles) remain sidelined.

West Brom will welcome Alfie Gilchrist back from his three-match ban.

Tammer Bany (thigh) and Jed Wallace (calf) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Leicester host West Brom at the King Power Stadium on Monday 5 January at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Leicester are unbeaten in their last eight league meetings against West Brom (W6, D2).
  • West Brom have won one of their last five league trips to Leicester (W1, D2, L2).
  • Leicester have won two of their last three meetings against West Brom by 2-1 results, whilst their recent clash earlier this season ended in a 1-1 draw.
  • Marti Cifuentes’ Foxes have kept no clean sheets in their last 19 league games (W6, D5, L8).
  • West Brom have won just one of their last four matches (W1, L3), which is the same record that Leicester has from their four recent fixtures too.

Prediction

With a seven-point deficit to the last play-off spot and one win in their last four matches, Leicester really need to produce a more attacking display because they were just utterly outplayed at Sheffield Utd – despite decent attacking build-up play.

West Brom meanwhile were simply wasteful in their loss at Swansea because despite having marginally less overall shots, they did manage seven shots on target to the Swans’ three so to not score was disappointing and shows how inconsistent they’re at the minute.

The fact that both teams are in similar form and with protests from home fans planned for this crucial clash in the Foxes’ push for a play-off spot, I expect this to be a close drab affair and a draw might be a fair call.

Prediction: Leicester 1-1 WBA

Result: Leicester 2-1 WBA
