2025-26 Premier League: Week 19 – Man Utd vs Wolves

Manchester United continue their top-four push against relegation-battling Wolves at Old Trafford.

Victory would lift Man Utd up to fourth if Chelsea fail to win elsewhere, whilst Wolves will remain rock bottom regardless of the result.

Team News

Mason Mount is a doubt for Man Utd after he suffered a knock in their 1-0 Boxing Day victory at home to Newcastle.

Bruno Fernandes (hamstring), Kobbie Mainoo (calf), Noussair Mazraoui, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo (all international duty), Matthijs De Ligt (back) and Harry Maguire (muscle) remain absent.

Wolves have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-1 loss at Liverpool, but Andre is suspended after his fifth booking of the season.

Emmanuel Agbadou (international duty), Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Toti Gomes (both hamstring), Marshall Munetsi (calf), Daniel Bentley (ankle), Leon Chiwone (ACL) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Man Utd host Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday 30 December at 8:15pm GMT, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Man Utd have lost two of their last seven league meetings against Wolves (W5, L2).
  • Wolves have won two of their last five league trips to Man Utd (W2, L3).
  • Utd have kept clean sheets in four of their last six home matches against Wolve.
  • 17 of Man Utd’s 29 points so far this season were gained at home (W5, D2, L2).
  • Wolves have lost each of their last two away games by 2-1 results at Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

Prediction

Having scraped victory over Newcastle through Patrick Dorgu’s clinical finish from a short corner clearance, Man Utd can be pleased at how they controlled the game defensively when not on top, but they will be expected to be on top here given their better form and quality than Wolves.

Rob Edwards’ Wolves though should be pleased at how they pushed Liverpool defensively in their defeat at Anfield until two quick-fire goals cost them, although they can take heart from how they dominated much of the second half but they will need to bring that fearless energy to Old Trafford.

If Mount is unavailable then I do think that Utd might be more vulnerable in midfield but they should really have enough quality to edge past Wolves, who won’t make this easy if they play like they did at Liverpool.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-1 Wolves

Result: Man Utd 1-1 Wolves
