2025-26 Premier League: Week 18 – Burnley vs Everton

Burnley look to boost their Premier League survival ambitions in a clash against Everton at Turf Moor.

Victory would lift the second-bottom Clarets up to third-bottom if West Ham lose at home to Fulham, whilst Everton can go as high as seventh if results elsewhere go in their favour.

Team News

Maxime Esteve is a doubt for Burnley after he missed their 1-1 draw at Bournemouth due to a knock.

Lyle Foster, Axel Tuanzebe (all international duty), Hannibal Mejbri (suspension), Zeki Amdouni (knee), Conor Roberts (Achilles) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Everton have no fresh injury concerns after their 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal.

Idrissa Gueye, Iliman Ndiaye (both international duty), Seamus Coleman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jarrad Branthwaite (all hamstring) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Burnley host Everton at Turf Moor on Saturday 27 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having produced a resilient defensive effort albeit with plenty of luck and a late clinical finish to snatch a draw at Bournemouth, Burnley know that their next two games are winnable at home if they can stop conceding and continue to be clinical as they need more wins if want to stay up.

Everton meanwhile are still without some key goalscoring players but they still managed to take the fight to Arsenal amidst a lack of creative attacking spark, which is a positive to build upon here but they need to be much sharper and crafty if they’re to get a result here.

Burnley however do have their key players available and with some more creative spark within their squad, I wouldn’t be surprised if they heap more misery on Everton even though this could be a scrappy game from start to finish.

Prediction: Burnley 1-0 Everton

Result: Burnley 0-0 Everton
