Brentford face Bournemouth in a mid-table Premier League clash at Gtech Community Stadium.
Victory could lift Brentford as high as ninth if results elsewhere go in their favour, whilst Bournemouth can likewise go ninth with a win plus results swinging in their favour.
Team News
Reiss Nelson could return for Brentford after a knock kept him out of their last five matches.
Dango Ouattara, Frank Onyeka (both international duty), Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined.
Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns after their 1-1 draw at home to Burnley.
Ben Doak (hamstring), Tyler Adams, Veljko Milosavljevic (both knee) and Matai Akinmboni (muscle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Bournemouth at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 27 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford are yet to lose to Bournemouth in the Premier League (W4, D2).
- Bournemouth are yet to win away at Brentford in the Premier League (D1, L2).
- Ex Brentford forward, Yoane Wissa scored three goals in the Bees’ last two meetings against Bournemouth.
- Brentford have won both of their two league matches played at home on Saturdays at 3pm this season (W2), as they beat Aston Villa 1-0 in August then Burnley 3-1 in November.
- Bournemouth have claimed four points in two trips to London-based opposition this season (W1, D1), as they won 1-0 at Tottenham in August then drew 3-3 at Crystal Palace in October.
Prediction
Having clinically dispatched Wolves in a game which was lacking in overall attacking quality, Brentford will be pleased with their performance in which they put six of seven shots onto target, amidst energetic pressing and overlapping play which proved too much for Wolves’ defence at times.
Bournemouth meanwhile dominated Burnley but their shot conversion accuracy was very poor with their goal coming from their sole shot on target, so a lot more composure will be needed if they’re to stop their rut and get a first away Premier League win at the Bees which looks a tough ask at the moment.
My instinct over the last few days though has been that this has a 1-1 draw written all over and I really don’t see any other result coming based on recent performances, particularly as Bournemouth’s defence will be stronger than Wolves’ were.
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Bournemouth
