Stockport County face Stevenage in a massive League One clash in the promotion race.
Victory could lift Stockport as high as second if Bradford and Lincoln City both slip up elsewhere, whilst Stevenage can leapfrog their hosts and potentially go fourth if Bolton fail to beat Exeter at home.
Team News
Callum Connolly is a doubt for Stockport after he missed their 2-0 win at Doncaster due to an unspecified injury.
Stevenage have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 midweek loss to Cardiff.
Tyreece Simpson (Achilles) remains absent
When is Kick-Off?
Stockport host Stevenage at Edgeley Park on Saturday 13 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Stockport have lost three of their six previous EFL meetings against Stevenage (W2, D1, L3).
- Stevenage are yet to win away to Stockport (D1, L2).
- Stockport kept clean sheets in their last two home games against Stevenage, having won 2-0 in February 2023 then 3-0 in April 2025.
- Kyle Wootton has been involved in more league goals than any other Stockport player this season, having produced seven goals and three assists in 18 appearances.
- Stevenage have won just one of their last seven league matches (W1, D3, L3).
Prediction
With just three goals and four points across two of their four league games since the start of November, Stockport need to hope that their win at Doncaster wakes them out of that rut because this is a huge opportunity to put some distance between themselves and Stevenage in the promotion race.
Stevenage though are a difficult team to break down and it took a moment of clinical magic for Cardiff to beat them in midweek, so I expect them to just reset and come out fighting as it’s telling that their four league losses were all by 1-0 results this season.
With that in mind, I am expecting a fairly cagey battle here and although Stevenage are yet to win here, I do fancy them to grind out a point.
Prediction: Stockport 1-1 Stevenage
Result: Stockport 1-3 Stevenage
