2025-26 League One: Week 18 – Huddersfield vs AFC Wimbledon

Huddersfield meet AFC Wimbledon in a huge clash in Sky Bet League One’s race for promotion.

With Huddersfield and AFC Wimbledon both level on 25 points in eighth and ninth respectively, victory would lift either team into the play-off spots depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Anthony Evans is ruled out for Huddersfield after he suffered a knee injury during their 2-1 defeat at Luton in midweek.

David Kasumu (calf) could return subject to late fitness checks.

Will Alves (foot), Herbie Kane, Marcus McGuane (both groin), Mickel Miller (hamstring), Zepiqueno Redmond (knee) and Jack Whatmough (calf) remain absent.

AFC Wimbledon have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 loss at home to Wigan last weekend.

Sam Hutchinson (adductor/back) and Matty Stevens (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Huddersfield host AFC Wimbledon at Accu Stadium on Saturday 30 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Despite being outplayed in their defeat at Luton amidst a second-half equaliser, Huddersfield did well defensively to frustrate the Hatters who forced and punished tiny errors for their goals but this is a must-win if want to avoid slipping away from their immediate play-off rivals.

AFC Wimbledon are in that same boat in terms of needing a win here, having lost their last three matches which included a late capitation against Wigan last weekend after grafting the opening goal in the 70th minute, so a big defensive improvement is needed if want to stop their rut.

Both teams though can’t afford to lose this but Huddersfield do have more goals within them which could well be the difference.

Prediction: Huddersfield 2-1 AFC Wimbledon

Result: Huddersfield 3-3 AFC Wimbledon
