Peterborough United host Stockport County in a massive Sky Bet League One clash affecting both ends of the table.
Victory would lift Peterborough up to 21st in the table and one point off safety heading into the weekend, whilst Stockport will stay top with a win.
Team News
Peterborough could welcome Matthew Garbett, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and David Okagbue back from international duty, subject to late fitness checks.
Rio Adebisi, Cian Hayes (both knee), Sam Hughes (Achilles) and George Nevett (knock) remain absent.
Stockport will welcome Owen Dodgson back from suspension.
Benony Breki Andresson could return if he passes a late fitness check, following his return from international duty for Iceland Under-21s.
When is Kick-Off?
Peterborough host Stockport at Weston Homes Stadium on Thursday 20 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Peterborough have avoided defeat in four of their last seven league meetings against Stockport (W3, D1, L3).
- Stockport have won two of their last six league visits to Peterborough (W2, D1, L3).
- Two of Peterborough’s last three league games at home to Stockport ended in 1-0 wins for both teams apiece, whilst their recent clash ended 1-1 in April 2025.
- Matthew Garbett has scored in two of Peterborough’s last four home games in League One.
- Stockport have kept clean sheets in two of their last three away games (W3), only failing to do so in a 2-1 win at Huddersfield.
Prediction
Unbeaten in three matches since Luke Williams’ arrival as manager, Peterborough need to just keep building momentum in their fight to stay up and can take confidence from their ruthless 5-0 victory at home to AFC Wimbledon in their last league outing.
Stockport though are coming into this game off the back of a 3-0 home loss to Luton in their last league outing (they beat Wigan more recently on penalties after 1-1 draw in Vertu Trophy), but are lucky that their rivals slipped up too amidst their own wasteful finishing.
I however do expect the Hatters to bounce back here because they know that victory will put the pressure on their promotion rivals going into Saturday, but Peterborough have settled nicely under Williams and if they play with that same confidence then they might just nick a draw.
Prediction: Peterborough 1-1 Stockport
Result: Peterborough 3-0 Stockport
