2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying: Liechtenstein vs Wales

Liechtenstein face Wales in their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier in UEFA Qualifying Group J.

Liechtenstein will finish bottom of the group regardless of the result, whilst Wales can move level on points with second-placed North Macedonia with victory ahead of their winners-take-all showdown in their final group match.

Team News

Liechtenstein have no injury concerns to report ahead of this match.

Wales will be without Ben Cabango (unspecified), Ben Davies and Kieffer Moore (both hamstring), with the trio having withdrawn from the squad.

Isaak Davies and Rhys Norrington-Davies have been called up to replace Moore and Davies.

When is Kick-Off?

Liechtenstein host Wales at Rheinpark, Vaduz on Saturday 15 November at 6pm CET (5pm GMT), live on BBC Two across the UK.

Prediction

Without a win in 11 matches and rock bottom of the group with zero points, Liechtenstein have no pressure on them here although they can take heart from getting their first goal of the year in a 2-1 friendly defeat to Montenegro last month.

Wales meanwhile know that this is must-win to give themselves the best launchpad psychologically in terms of momentum to take into their showdown against North Macedonia, but they will need to stop their defensive rut of recent games and deliver a clinical result to boost their goal difference.

Although Liechtenstein might give them some battle in the early stages, I just don’t see Wales losing this if can tighten up defensively and deliver a ruthless result.

Prediction: Liechtenstein 0-3 Wales

Result: Liechtenstein 0-1 Wales
