Aston Villa continue the league phase of their 2025-26 UEFA Europa League campaign with a home game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Victory could see Villa climb into the top eight, whilst Maccabi Tel Aviv can move into the knockout play-off spots with a win.
Team News
Harvey Elliott is set to be available for Villa after he was ineligible to feature in their 2-0 Premier League defeat at his parent club, Liverpool.
Tyrone Mings is ruled out after he suffered a hamstring injury at Anfield.
Emiliano Buendia (foot) could return but Ross Barkley (ineligible), Youri Tielemans (calf) and Andres Garcia (knock) remain absent.
Maccabi Tel Aviv have no reported injury concerns ahead of this match.
When is Kick-Off?
Villa host Maccabi Tel Aviv at Villa Park on Thursday 6 November at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Aston Villa’s first-ever competitive meeting against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
- Maccabi Tel Aviv are making their first visit to Villa.
- Villa have kept clean sheets in two of their three league phase fixtures this season (W2, L1).
- Maccabi Tel Aviv are winless in their last five league phase fixtures (D1, L4), having last won at this stage in December 2024 in a home clash against RFS – albeit in Serbia due to ban on playing in Israel.
Prediction
Villa shouldn’t feel too disappointed with their defeat at Liverpool because they played well but for a mixture of small errors and sublime saves by Giorgi Mamardashvili, so I hope that they can bring the same quality but are just that more clinical in their final touches.
Maccabi Tel Aviv meanwhile will be underdogs and I honestly don’t see them getting a result given that they’ve conceded three goals in their last two league phase fixtures, so it is a case of how many shots they can keep out of the net.
I however do think that this will be an one-sided result really if Villa get in front first.
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Result: Aston Villa 2-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv
