2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Latvia vs England

Latvia host automatic-qualification chasing England in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

Should Serbia lose away to Andorra, victory would lift Latvia up to third in the group.

England meanwhile can secure automatic qualification and top the group with a win.

Team News

Latvia have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-2 draw at home to Andorra on Saturday.

England will be without Ollie Watkins after he was substituted at half time in their 3-0 win over Wales, due to a knock suffered in a collision with the left goal-post late in the first half.

When is Kick-Off?

Latvia host England on Tuesday 14 October at Daugava Stadium, Riga, in a 8:45pm CEST (7:45pm BST) kick-off, live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.

Prediction

With a play-off spot still mathematically achievable, Latvia realistically must win all three remaining games with some luck from elsewhere, but I do feel like they will need to be more robust defensively if want to get the victory here because they’re facing vastly superior opposition.

England meanwhile will be relieved to have Harry Kane available – after he sat out their win over Wales with a minor injury – given Watkins’ absence, although I do think that they would of still been very strong without both players especially after a dominant clinical display.

In fact I expect this to be one-sided and England should cruise to automatic qualification if can play as well as they did in the reverse fixture at home, but only more polished now under Thomas Tuchel.

Prediction: Latvia 0-3 England

Result: Latvia 0-5 England
