2025-26 League Two: Week 12 – Crewe Alexandra vs Bromley

Crewe Alexandra host Bromley in a massive League Two encounter in the race for promotion.

Depending on Grimsby and Gillingham’s results elsewhere, victory could lift Crewe as high as third in the table.

Bromley meanwhile can climb as high as eighth depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Matus Holicek is a doubt for Crewe Alexandra after he was substituted just before half time in their comeback win at Harrogate on Monday evening.

Conor Thomas (fitness) could return if he passes late checks, but Joel Tabiner (ACL) and Shilow Tracey (leg) remain ruled out.

Bromley will be without Byron Webster after he was red carded in their 3-3 draw at home to Tranmere last weekend, although he participated in their 2-1 Vertu Trophy defeat at Stevenage on Tuesday due to the ban only applying to league games.

Corey Whitely however is doubtful after he suffered an unspecified injury during the latter game.

Carl Jenkinson remains absent as he continues his recovery from a hip injury suffered in pre-season.

When is Kick-Off?

Crewe host Bromley at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday 11 October at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ Red Button in the UK.

Prediction

Having recently emerged from an early-season rut, Crewe Alexandra have won their last two games which included a comeback at Harrogate but their defence is their biggest concern with just two clean sheets.

Bromley meanwhile are still in their inconsistent rut and have defensive issues of their own which were evident in how they blew a 3-1 lead to draw against Tranmere, but they did have to deal with high winds and a weak referee so an improved performance and point were still positives.

They however built on that display in the Vertu Trophy with several changes at Stevenage – where a late injury saw them reduced to ten men and cost them a possible draw, but with Mitch Pinnock and Michael Cheek back I expect a even stronger performance.

Crewe though won’t make this easy but given the defensive fragilities within both teams, I can see this being an entertaining draw.

Prediction: Crewe Alexandra 2-2 Bromley

Result: Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Bromley
