2025-26 Premier League: Week Five – Burnley vs Forest

Ange Postecoglou seeks his first win as Nottingham Forest manager in an away Premier League trip to Burnley.

Victory could put Burnley as high as tenth in the table if Leeds fail to win at Wolves, whilst Forest can go eighth if Brighton loses elsewhere.

Team News

Jacob Bruun Larsen could return for Burnley after a sore heel kept him out of their defeat to Liverpool.

Lesley Ugochukwu is suspended after he was red carded for a late foul.

Zeki Amdouni (ACL), Jordan Beyer and Conor Roberts (both knee) remain absent.

Forest could welcome Murillo back into contention after he missed their Carabao Cup exit at Swansea due to a knock.

Ola Aina (hamstring) and Nicolas Dominguez (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Burnley host Forest at Turf Moor on Saturday 20 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Burnley mounted a brilliant defensive display against Liverpool even after Ugochukwu’s red card which they need to take heart from despite losing to a late penalty, because they now have a chance to bring more attack than they were able to against the Reds.

Forest meanwhile will be disappointed with the manner of how they blew a 2-0 lead at Swansea through some sloppy second-half defensive marking, so I do hope that we see a serious response but they are still transitioning to Postecoglou’s style which isn’t easy.

Nevertheless my instinct is that this could be a close game but Burnley have the better stability which might just make the difference, unless Forest tighten up defensively and play like they did in the first half at Swansea.

I however do think that a draw is the likely guess.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Result: Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest
