Noni Madueke and Marc Guehi are “delighted” to score their first senior international goals as England won 5-0 away to Serbia.

Madueke and Guehi netted England’s second and fourth goals in a 5-0 win in Belgrade to move eight points clear at the summit of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying group, with Harry Kane, Ezri Konsa and Marcus Rashford also on the scoresheet.

Madueke’s goal came on his ninth senior cap for England after he finished off a stunning move started by Elliot Anderson which was flicked forward by Morgan Rogers, of which he was able to latch onto and put away past Djorde Petrovic to leave himself “delighted” with the finish.

“It was a really, really top performance today and thank God that I was able to score my first goal – it was a top day overall.

“It was a great flick from Morgan [Rogers] and as soon as it broke for me, I had one thought in my head, which was to go as fast as I could to the goal and then compose myself for the finish so I’m really happy.

“It’s a great feeling. It’s something that you work for, and that you dream of when you’re a lot younger and then for it to come to fruition today is a great feeling.”

Guehi meanwhile turned Declan Rice’s free-kick into his near-bottom right corner on his 25th senior cap after Serbia had been reduced to ten men, following Nikola Milenkovic’s red card for a foul on Kane.

The 25-year-old defender subsequently was chuffed to finally score for his country as he explained in a joint interview to ITV post-match alongside Madueke.

“I’m just over the moon, just like Noni said, I reiterate what he said, it’s a fantastic feeling. You work really hard growing up and to score a goal for your country is the best feeling.”
