2025-26 Premier League: Week Three – Man Utd vs Burnley

Under-fire Manchester United chase a first win of the season against Burnley at Old Trafford.

Victory could lift Man Utd into the top ten, whilst Burnley can go as high as fourth with a win if results elsewhere swing in their favour.

Team News

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns to report after their shock Carabao Cup exit at Grimsby in midweek on penalties.

Noussair Mazraoui (thigh) and Lisandro Martinez (knee) remain sidelined.

Burnley too have no fresh injury concerns after they beat Derby 2-1 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Zeki Amdouni (ACL), Jordan Beyer, Conor Roberts (both knee) and Manuel Benson (Achilles) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Man Utd host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday 30 August at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Still winless and now out of the Carabao Cup after a pretty awful all-round display, this game already feels like a must-win against a team many expect to be fighting for survival but Man Utd first need to find a clinical end product to match their attacking quality.

Burnley meanwhile might of seen their unbeaten away league run ended at Tottenham on the opening weekend but they’ve bounced back with two clinical home victories over Sunderland and Derby in the past week, which will give them belief on top of their recent away form at Old Trafford.

Whilst it feels easy to go for an away win such is the low mood amongst the hosts but an angry home crowd will surely inspire Utd to at least grind out a draw if not win.

Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Burnley

Result: Man Utd 3-2 Burnley
