Nottingham Forest have signed forward, Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town in a £37.5m transfer.

Hutchinson spent the last two seasons at Ipswich – initially on loan in 2023-24 season which saw him score 11 goals to help the Tractor Boys achieve promotion to the Premier League, before he contributed three goals as Ipswich were relegated at the end of last season.

This summer also saw Hutchinson help England defend their Under-21 Euro title and scored their second goal in a 3-2 victory over Germany in the final.

The 21-year-old has now left Portman Road having scored 14 goals in 82 appearances in a £37.5m transfer to Forest, as the Tricky Trees continue to bring in reinforcement as they prepare for their return to Europe in the Europa League this season.

Following confirmation of his move on a five-year contract until June 2030, Hutchinson told nottinghamforest.co.uk that he is “really excited” to make the move and have fans behind him, having previously faced “hostile” receptions when visiting with opposition.

“I’ve played at the City Ground a few times and it’s always felt like a hostile atmosphere, so I’m looking forward to playing here with the fans behind us.”

Hutchinson also vowed to relish the task ahead having signed a five-year contract until June 2030.

“I’m going to give it my all and I’m looking forward to the challenge as it’s a new chapter for me, but I feel ready.”

Forest’s Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson added: “Omari is a really exciting addition to the squad. He’s coming off a fantastic summer, winning the U21 European Championship alongside Elliot, and arrives here full of confidence.

“He joins an already talented group of players and adds another layer of quality and energy to our attacking options. We’re looking forward to seeing him thrive in a Forest shirt.”

Hutchinson began his career at Chelsea before he enjoyed spells at Charlton and Arsenal where he was an unused substitute in the Gunners’ FA Cup exit against Forest in January 2022, before he returned to Chelsea that summer and made two appearances for the Blues before his spell at Ipswich.
