Tottenham Hotspur have signed midfielder, Joao Palhinha on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.
Palhinha’s return to London and English football comes just over a year since he left Fulham for Bayern where he struggled to adapt with no goals or assists in 25 appearances.
Bayern consequently sanctioned a loan move back to England for the 30-year-old Portugal international, which has seen him join Tottenham on a season-long loan with a non mandatory buy option of £26m.
Palhinha began his career at Alta de Lisboa before he spent time at SG Sacavenense prior to a move to Sporting Lisbon, where he graduated into their senior team and managed seven goals in 95 appearances across four seasons.
He however enjoyed single-season loans at Moreirense then Belenenses between 2015-17 seasons which yielded one goal in 47 combined appearances, which was followed by a two-season loan at Braga which saw him deliver six goals in 76 appearances between 2018-20 seasons.
July 2022 saw Palhinha depart Sporting Lisbon for Fulham where he scored eight goals and created one assist in 79 appearances across two seasons.
