Defender, Kamarl Grant has signed a new long-term contract at Millwall.

Grant spent the last season-and-a-half on loan at Bromley where he helped Andy Woodman’s Ravens clinch a maiden promotion to the EFL at end of 2023-24 campaign, before he contributed two goals as Bromley finished 11th in League Two last campaign.

Across his loan stint at Hayes Lane, the 22-year-old managed two goals in 58 total appearances before he spent pre-season with Millwall ahead of the new season, although he sat out their friendly victory over Bromley last weekend.

Amidst rumours over whether he will spend the upcoming season with Millwall’s first-team squad or head back out on loan, Grant has signed a new long-term contract at The Den with a publicly unannounced expiry date.

Millwall’s Director of Football, Steve Gallen explained that Grant’s new contract is purely down to his development whilst at Bromley, although he spent September 2022 on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge where he made four appearances.

“Kamarl deserves this deal. He has had a couple of really good loans over the last few years and we’ve been watching his development closely. I am really pleased with his progress.”

Gallen proceeded to hint that Grant is set to stay at Millwall for the first half of the season at least, having produced two assists in their friendly win at Sutton United in midweek.

“He’s been involved in the First-Team in the last few weeks. Alex has been really good with him.
He played on Tuesday night against Sutton United, and I thought he had a very good performance.

“I’m pleased for Kamarl and it’s further evidence that the system is working well. We’ve got a lot of younger players in and around the First-Team.
Alex has been great at giving them opportunities, and it just goes to show what we’re trying to do is working.”
