Globo have regained exclusive F1 broadcasting rights in Brazil from the 2026 season as part of a multi-year contract.
Globo previously held the broadcasting rights in Brazil until 2020 when Rede Bandeirantes won the rights but the coverage will now return to Globo from next season, preserving Brazil’s free-to-air broadcast of F1.
Races will be broadcast live across TV Globo, sportv and Globo’s digital platform – GloboPlay until the end of 2028 at minimum under the multi-year contract.
15 races will be broadcast live or on delay on TV Globo whilst every session across practice, qualifying, sprint and Grands Prix will be available on sportv.
F1’s Chief Media Rights and Content Officer, Ian Holmes is “excited” to welcome Globo back to F1 such is Brazil’s “strong passion for the sport in the country,” but thanked Bandeirantes for their commitment.
“I would like to thank the team at Bandeirantes for their passion and commitment over the last five seasons and look forward to continuing our work through to the final race in Abu Dhabi this year.”
TV Globo’s Executive Director, Leonora Bardini added: “TV Globo has a long story of success with Formula 1, dating back to when Brazilians used to wake up early on weekends to watch Ayrton Senna and other outstanding Brazilian drivers compete in the pinnacle of racing.
“Now, Formula 1 is back home, and the fans will have the chance of a complementary and even richer experience on Globo.”
Globo’s Sports Channel Director, Eduardo Gabbay is overjoyed to have F1 back on Globo with all live coverage primarily on sportv.
“It is a joy to announce the return of Formula 1 on sportv. sportv will provide fans with complete coverage of every practice, qualifying session and Grand Prix for years to come. With quality programming and expert analysis, we give fans the top-class coverage that they deserve.”
