Germany begin their hunt for a ninth UEFA Women’s Euro title against Poland in Group C of UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Germany come into the tournament as one of the title favourites, whilst Poland are making their debut at the finals of this tournament.
Team News
Germany have no fresh injury concerns to report with Chelsea’s Sjoeke Nusken and Manchester City’s Rebecca Knaak amongst those to feature.
Poland will be without midfielder, Martyna Brodzik after she withdrew due to an unspecified injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Germany meet Poland at Arena St Gallen, St Gallen, Switzerland, on Friday 4 July at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Germany’s first meeting against Poland at UEFA Women’s Euro Finals.
- Poland have lost each of their two previous meetings against Germany in this competition – albeit in Qualifying for this tournament (L2), as they lost 4-1 away and 3-1 at home.
- Lea Schuller scored three goals in Germany’s two qualifiers against Poland.
- Schuller has scored four goals in three of Germany’s last four matches.
- Poland have scored 11 goals in their last three matches without conceding (W3).
Prediction
After an inconsistent second half of 2024, it might of been hard to see Germany coming into this tournament as one of the title favourites but they’ve found their attacking best so far this year with plenty of threats and an attacking style to trouble many teams.
Poland meanwhile are underdogs with little chance of getting out of the group but they can take heart from their attacking form so far this year, whilst five clean sheets is another positive but they will need to play the perfect defensive smash-and-grab game to get a result here.
I however do think that Germany will have too much but the Polish will give them a good battle throughout.
Prediction: Germany 3-1 Poland
Result: Germany 2-0 Poland
