2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Wales vs Liechtenstein

Wales face rock-bottom Liechtenstein in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Group J Qualifier.

Victory will see Wales move top of Qualifying Group J if can better North Macedonia’s result against Belgium.

Team News

Wales have no fresh injury concerns to report coming into this match, with a full squad available for selection as defender – Ronan Kpakio looks for his first senior international cap.

Liechtenstein also have a full squad available for selection.

When is Kick-Off?

Wales host Liechtenstein at Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff, on Friday 6 June at 7:45pm BST, live on BBC One Wales, BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Prediction

Having battled valiantly to a deserved 1-1 draw away to North Macedonia with a last-gap comeback goal, Wales now need to make this opportunity count and be more clinical because a win would likely put them top as I can’t see North Macedonia beating Belgium.

Liechtenstein meanwhile don’t stand any real chance of achieving World Cup qualification but after conceding five goals in two games, this is simply a game where they will be lucky to get a point if can dig in defensively and keep Wales quiet.

I however don’t see that happening because if Wales can stay composed and dominate the game, their unbeaten start under Craig Bellamy will surely continue.

Prediction: Wales 2-0 Liechtenstein

Result: Wales 3-0 Liechtenstein
