2024-25 Premier League: Week 38 – Bournemouth vs Leicester

Bournemouth host Leicester in a dead rubber fixture on the final day of 2024-25 Premier League.

Victory would see Bournemouth finish ninth if Brentford and Fulham lose elsewhere, whilst Leicester will finish 18th with a win or draw – although defeat would be enough if Ipswich fail to beat West Ham.

Team News

Lewis Cook is suspended for Bournemouth following his red card in their 3-1 loss at Manchester City.

Alex Scott (jaw) and James Hill (knee) could feature but Dango Ouattara (adductor), Luis Sinisterra (hamstring), Ryan Christie (groin) and Enes Unal (ACL) remain absent.

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report following their win over Ipswich.

Mads Hermansen (groin), Bobby Reid, Stephy Mavididi (both muscle), Harry Winks (personal) and Abdul Fatawu (ACL) remains ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Leicester at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday 25 May at 4pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

With their top-eight ambitions now over after a tough defeat at Man City where they were just outclassed, Bournemouth nevertheless have had a great season following Dominic Solanke’s exit as they have adapted well with a more robust defence yet managed more goals than last season.

Leicester meanwhile are down but were just clinical in their smash-and-grab win over Ipswich with a nice positive energy to their attacking play, of which had been absent for much of the season but it is important that they continue to build some positive momentum to take into next season.

Bournemouth though can’t afford to let their heads drop after two tough defeats and if they play to the level that they’re capable of, I can see them having just too much for Leicester and get a top-ten finish but this should be pretty close.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Leicester

Result: Bournemouth 2-0 Leicester
