2024-25 League Two: Week 46 – Notts County vs Doncaster Rovers

Promotion-chasing Notts County host promoted Doncaster Rovers on the final day of 2024-25 Sky Bet League Two.

To secure promotion, Notts County simply must win and hope that Bradford suffer defeat at home to Fleetwood whilst Walsall fail to win at Crewe.

Doncaster simply need to match or better Port Vale’s result to secure the title.

Team News

Notts County have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-1 win at Harrogate.

Sam Austin (unspecified), Lucas Ness (hamstring) and Scott Robertson (quad) remain absent.

Doncaster could again be without Joe Ironside as the forward continues to recover from a hernia issue.

Joseph Olowu (thigh), Patrick Kelly, Jack Senior (both hamstring) and Richard Wood (ankle) won’t be risked.

When is Kick-Off?

Notts County host Doncaster at Meadow Lane on Saturday 3 May at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ Red Button in the UK.

Prediction

Although they need other results to fall their way for them to snatch promotion, Notts County must simply focus on this game alone and show the same clinical quality which saw them beat Harrogate because that would then put the pressure on Bradford and Walsall.

Doncaster though won’t be resting on their laurels despite having secured promotion with a clinically-executed victory over Bradford as the title is still to be sealed, but their recent away form hasn’t exactly been totally consistent and this is a tough away game for them to wrap up the season with.

Nevertheless I expect this to be close but Notts County surely will have that bit extra motivation to see them over the line, irrespective of other results falling their way or not.

Prediction: Notts County 2-1 Doncaster

Result: Notts County 1-2 Doncaster
