2024-25 UEFA Conference League Quarter-Finals: Second Leg – Chelsea vs Legia Warsaw

Chelsea host Legia Warsaw in the second leg of their 2024-25 UEFA Conference League Quarter-Final tie.

With a 3-0 lead from the first leg, Chelsea simply need to avoid defeat to secure their spot in the semi-finals.

Legia Warsaw must simply win by at least a four-goal margin to stand any chance of progressing to the final four of this season’s competition.

Team News

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns following their 2-2 draw against Ipswich in the Premier League.

Wesley Fofana (muscle), Romeo Lavia (fitness), Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension), Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman (both hamstring) are still ruled out.

Legia Warsaw will welcome Jan Ziolkowski and Artur Jedrzejczyk back from suspension, which kept the pair out of the first leg.

When is Kick-Off?

Chelsea host Legia Warsaw at Stamford Bridge on Thursday 17 April at 8pm BST, live on TNT Sports 4 in the UK.

Prediction

With the tie pretty much sewn up barring a miracle comeback from Legia Warsaw, Enzo Maresca can afford to rotate his Chelsea squad but after a pretty sloppy draw against Ipswich despite coming from 2-0 down, I expect him to go fairly strong to try and get an immediate reaction out of his regulars.

Legia Warsaw simply have to score first if want any chance of turning this tie around but I just can’t see them doing that if don’t show more fight than they mustered at home.

Chelsea ultimately should win this irrespective of the team put out on the pitch but Legia really need to just make more of a game of it here.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Legia Warsaw

Result: Chelsea 1-2 Legia Warsaw (Chelsea win 4-2 on aggregate)
