After an entertaining wet Australian GP in which McLaren’s Lando Norris took victory to lay down a title-challenging marker, F1 rolls up in China for the first sprint weekend of the season with teams looking to either bounce back from a tough weekend in Melbourne or continue their momentum.

Four Pointers
- Coming into the first sprint weekend of the season, teams will have only one hour of practice to understand setup, tyres and more.
- Following a tough Australian GP weekend, Haas need a clean weekend from the get-go if want to start unlocking their unknown potential given their lack of competitive running in pre-season testing.
- Track evolution will be high on a track which will be dirty at the start of the weekend due to lack of usage, which will pose a challenge for tyre wear and management.
- Shanghai International Circuit has more medium and low-speed corners than Australia which could suit Haas more than teams like Ferrari and Red Bull who struggled in Australia on single dry-lap running in those corners.
Last Time Out
Norris claimed pole position for the Sprint in 2024 but it was Verstappen who proceeded to take victory from fourth on the grid, before the now four-time champion proceeded to take pole and dominate the main GP ahead of Norris.
