2024-25 Premier League: Week 24 – Chelsea vs West Ham

Top-four chasing Chelsea host West Ham in a London derby at Stamford Bridge.

Victory or a draw would see Chelsea climb to fourth in the table following defeats for Manchester City and Newcastle this weekend.

West Ham can move up to 13th with a win.

Team News

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns following their 3-1 loss at Manchester City last weekend.

Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension), Romeo Lavia (muscle), Benoit Badiashile (thigh), Wesley Fofana and Omari Kellyman (both hamstring) are still ruled out.

West Ham could be without Lucas Paqueta after he suffered a groin injury in their draw at Aston Villa last weekend.

Crysencio Summerville (hamstring), Konstantinos Mavropanos (suspension) and Jarrod Bowen (foot) could feature if fit.

Jean-Clair Todibo (knock), Niclas Fullkrug (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Chelsea host West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Monday 3 February at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

With fourth place up for grabs now following results elsewhere swinging in their favour, Chelsea need to be more clinical than they were at Man City because they were initially great but frustrating final touches and defending cost them.

West Ham meanwhile were initially sluggish defensively but showed grit to keep their deficit to one goal before producing a strong second-half to snatch a point, but I can see them doing more defending here given Chelsea’s attacking quality which will be a huge issue.

Chelsea however have one clean sheet in their last ten league games but given their goalscoring ability and home form in this fixture, I can’t see them losing but West Ham should be good for a goal if Paqueta is available as he has been one of their bright sparks so far under Graham Potter.

Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 West Ham

Result: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
