2024-25 Premier League: Week 13 – Crystal Palace vs Newcastle

Crystal Palace entertain Newcastle United as both teams chase a first Premier League win since the international break.

Victory could lift Palace out of the relegation zone if results elsewhere swing in their favour.

Newcastle can climb to sixth if Nottingham Forest fail to beat Ipswich at home.

Team News

Eberechi Eze is set to return for Palace following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Daichi Kamada (suspension), Chadi Riad (knee), Adam Wharton (groin), Eddie Nketiah (hamstring), Matheus Franca (adductor) and Rob Holding (personal) remain sidelined.

Newcastle will welcome Dan Burn back from suspension.

Joe Willock (leg) and Bruno Guimaraes (glute) face late fitness checks but Emil Krafth (shoulder), Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Palace host Newcastle at Selhurst Park on Saturday 30 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having twice led at Villa, Palace might feel slightly disappointed to draw and slip back into the relegation zone, but they really must try and find a way to cut out their defensive marking lapses if want to win more games.

Newcastle though were pretty lacklustre with little creativity and awful marking of both conceded goals in their loss to West Ham, so a big improvement is needed if want to stay with their rivals in the race for an European spot.

On my instinct this feels like a draw because Palace aren’t exactly consistent defensively and Newcastle can only be better, so am going for a score draw.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle United

Result: Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle United
