Scotland host Croatia in a top of 2024-25 UEFA Nations League A1 clash.
Victory will see Scotland starve off the threat of relegation until their final group match, but they will be relegated if they lose and Poland avoid defeat or if they draw and Poland beat Portugal.
Croatia will secure a knockout spot with a win or if they draw and Poland fail to win against Portugal.
Team News
Che Adams and Lewis Morgan have withdrawn from Scotland’s squad due to injuries, whilst midfielder – Stuart Armstrong has been called up as a replacement.
Croatia have a near-full squad available with only Bruno Petkovic ruled out due to injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Scotland host Croatia at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on Friday 15 November at 7:45pm GMT, live on Scotland National Football Team’s YouTube channel.
Stat Attack
- Scotland lost 2-1 away in their only previous Nations League meeting against Croatia in October 2024.
- Croatia are playing away to Scotland for the first time in the Nations League, but are winless in three away trips to the Tartan Army in all competitions (D2, L1).
- Scotland have kept clean sheets in two of their three previous home games against Croatia.
- In this group, Scotland has put the least number of shots onto target – having converted just nine of 29 total shots onto goal.
- Croatia’s seven goals in the group have all been scored by a different, with their first goal though being an own-goal from Portugal’s Diogo Dalot.
Prediction
Sat bottom of the group with just one win in their last 16 matches in all competitions, Scotland must simply come out and try to win if want to keep their survival dreams alive but tighten up more defensively.
Croatia though are no pushovers as we saw with their comeback last month at home and I wouldn’t expect any less here given their squad’s quality, but they have just one clean sheet in this group.
All the pressure though is on Scotland which will suit Croatia although both teams will likely concede, but I can see the visitors just having too much for Steve Clarke’s Tartan Army.
Prediction: Scotland 1-2 Croatia
Result: Scotland 1-0 Croatia
