2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 10 – Saturday

Middlesbrough host Bristol City at Riverside Stadium in the race for Championship Play-Offs.

Depending upon results elsewhere, Middlesbrough can climb to sixth in the table.

Bristol City meanwhile can go as high as 10th with a win if results elsewhere swing in their favour too.

Team News

Jonny Howson could return for Middlesbrough following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Dael Fry (fitness), Hayden Hackney and Tommy Conway (both hamstring) are doubts but Darragh Lenihan (fitness), Lukas Engel (muscle), Tommy Smith (Achilles) are still sidelined.

Bristol City will be without Cameron Pring after he suffered a leg injury in their draw at home to Cardiff a fortnight ago.

Rob Atkinson (groin) could return if he passes fitness checks.

When is Kick-Off?

Middlesbrough host Bristol City at Riverside Stadium on Saturday 19 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having suffered a late defeat at Watford after scoring first, Boro need to sort out their defence if want to find more consistency and wins if want to fight for promotion or a play-off spot.

Bristol City meanwhile are unbeaten in four games but have drawn each of their last three, but they now need to find more wins if want to move up the table so this trip might be well-timed given their form on Teesside.

The visitors will also be motivated to give their boss, Liam Manning something positive in his absence for personal reasons, but Boro won’t make it easy with Howson and Fry set to return.

A draw therefore will be a fair result but I do think that Boro can get the win if can find more consistency, especially in defence.

Prediction: Middlesbrough 1-1 Bristol City

Result: Middlesbrough 0-2 Bristol City
