Haas have partnered Toyota GAZOO Racing in a new technical partnership.
This move marks Toyota’s return to the F1 paddock for the first time since they withdrew at end of 2009 season, owing to financial issues caused by a worldwide recession.
In a multi-year deal, Haas and Toyota ‘will share expertise and knowledge’ plus their resources, under which Toyota will provide design, technical and manufacturing service.
Haas in-turn will provide their technical expertise and commercial benefits with an objective to boost Haas’ competitive development in F1, whilst Toyota gain knowledge and skills which they can learn to apply within their wider business.

“To have a world leader in the automotive sector support and work alongside our organization, while seeking to develop and accelerate their own technical and engineering expertise – it’s simply a partnership with obvious benefits on both sides.”
Komatsu proceeded to add that the ability to learn from each other and “tap into the resources and knowledge base available at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing,” will help Haas in their quest to become more competitive.
Ferrari will continue to provide their support and power units amidst Toyota’s new involvement, and Komatsu “…is looking forward to the collaborative results of this new relationship, we can’t wait to get started and fulfil our combined ambitions.”
On behalf of Toyota Gazoo Racing, Tomoya Takahashi – President of GAZOO Racing Company, was “pleased” to agree this technical partnership deal, which he hopes will allow both Haas and Toyota to progress forward.
