2024-25 Premier League: Week Seven – Brighton vs Tottenham

Brighton & Hove Albion entertain Tottenham Hotspur in a mouth-watering Premier League clash at AMEX Stadium.

Victory could see Brighton climb to sixth but if Forest beat Chelsea by two goals or more, Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls will need to at least match Forest’s winning margin to go above the East-Midlands club.

Tottenham meanwhile could go sixth with a win, but a top-five spot is possible if at least one of Aston Villa or Chelsea lose elsewhere.

Team News

Jan Paul van Hecke is ruled out for Brighton with a groin injury.

James Milner (hamstring), Solly March (knee), Brajan Gruda (fitness), Simon Adingra (knock) and Joel Veltman (illness) are doubts.

Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley (both ankle) remain absent.

Tottenham could again be without Destiny Udogie due to a quad injury, which forced him to miss their Europa League win away to Ferencvaros.

Son Heung-Min (hamstring), Wilson Odobert (thigh) and Richarlison (unspecified) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Tottenham at AMEX Stadium on Sunday 6 October at 4:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

With Hürzeler now aware that their high-line defence cost them at least a draw at Chelsea, I do hope that Brighton are solid in their defensive lining but don’t lose their enjoyable attacking intensity and clinical quality.

Tottenham meanwhile just continue to roll along in hot form despite several changes in their win at Ferencvaros, but those who came into the side were quite wasteful when on top but I do expect another high energy display here.

As for how this game concludes come full-time, I genuinely feel like both teams could win this such is their attacking quality, so an entertaining draw would be a fair result.

Prediction: Brighton 2-2 Tottenham

Result: Brighton 3-2 Tottenham
