2024-25 Premier League: Week Seven – Brentford vs Wolves

Brentford host struggling Wolves at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Victory would lift Brentford up to ninth until Sunday afternoon if Bournemouth fail to win at Leicester, whilst Wolves could move out of the relegation zone with a win.

Team News

Christian Norgaard could return for Brentford after he missed their last two matches with a minor injury.

Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva, Igor Thiago (all knee), Paris Maghoma, Yoane Wissa (both ankle), Mathias Jensen (calf), Gustavo Nunes (back) and Aaron Hickey (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Wolves could welcome defender, Craig Dawson back into contention after he missed their loss to Liverpool, due to illness.

Santiago Sciutto (glute) is a doubt for selection.

Bastien Meupiyou (unspecified), Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore (both knee), Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Brentford host Wolves at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 5 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having made another electric start last weekend, Brentford will be glad to have picked up one point against West Ham but now need to learn how to start kicking on when in front.

Wolves meanwhile were never going to get anything realistically against Liverpool but fair play to them for their effort, as they took the fight to the Reds and only a poorly marked header and sloppy foul cost them a draw.

Gary O’Neil’s Old Gold though will need another solid defensive effort because Brentford do look pretty dangerous going forward with pace, but Wolves know that they can get something as the Bees’ defence can be quite leaky.

Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Wolves

Result: Brentford 5-3 Wolves
