2024-25 League 2: Week Seven – Notts County vs Gillingham

Notts County meet Gillingham in a blockbuster top of League Two clash at Meadow Lane.

Victory would see Notts County stay top of the table, whilst Gillingham can leapfrog their hosts onto the summit with a win.

Team News

Notts County have no fresh injury concerns to report following their comeback win at Bromley.

Curtis Edwards (unspecified) remains ruled out.

Gillingham will be without Ethan Coleman following his red card in a 3-0 home win over Tranmere.

Jonny Williams (concussion) could return but Josh Andrews (quad) and Bradley Dack (fitness) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Notts County host Gillingham at Meadow Lane on Saturday 21 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Although they’re unbeaten in their last four matches, Notts County were defensively sloppy in the opening minutes at Hayes Lane but were lucky that their attacking quality stepped up and delivered a clinical comeback.

Gillingham meanwhile were simply clinical in their win over Tranmere but with just one goal in three away games, they must really try and score first if want to get a result here.

Notts County though do look like they’ve found their groove and unless their defence is sloppy, I can’t see them losing this early test of their promotion credentials.

Prediction: Notts County 2-1 Gillingham

Result: Notts County 0-1 Gillingham
