Bromley have terminated the contract of midfielder, Sam Woods with immediate effect.

Woods joined Andy Woodman’s Ravens from Barnet in June 2023 and scored three goals in 22 appearances as they won promotion to League Two, but the club have now decided to terminate his contract via mutual consent with immediate effect.

The 26 year-old has issued a statement thanking Bromley for bringing him to the club, but admitted that he needs a fresh challenge although he will watch the team from afar.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Bromley and the memories I’ve made will stay with me forever.

“I’m really happy to have been part of last season’s squad which ultimately achieved promotion to the EFL and it was great to experience the buzz around the place since.

“However, it’s time for me to take on a new challenge in my life and I wish nothing but the best for my team-mates, the coaches and of course, all of the supporters going forward.

“I will be watching on from afar and I hope our paths will cross again soon.

“I would like to thank everyone at the club for their support during my time here.”

Woods began his career at Crystal Palace where he made four appearances amidst loans at Hamilton and Plymouth, during which he scored one goal in both loan spells.

Summer 2021 saw Woods join Barnet where he netted twice in 51 appearances, although he spent a brief loan stint at Cheshunt in which he made three appearances.
