Everton have signed forward, Armando Broja on a season-long loan from Chelsea with obligation to buy for £30m.

This move will mark Broja’s fourth loan spell away from Chelsea, having previously been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem, Southampton and Fulham respectively in three of the last four seasons.

Broja has signed a season-long loan but Everton will have a £30m obligatory buy clause, with the fee remaining the same as was planned in his failed move to Ipswich.

Everton’s Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell welcomed Broja’s arrival on Merseyside despite being sidelined with a foot injury.

“Having monitored Armando’s journey for a number of years, we’re very pleased to have been able to bring him to the Club.

“Armando is still a young player who has already built up some impressive experience but someone we also feel has lots more potential to be unlocked.

“First and foremost, we will work with him to get him fit as soon as possible. Then, his addition will strengthen our options in the attacking department.”

Broja began his career at Burnham Juniors then joined Tottenham’s academy in 2007 but switched to Chelsea just two years later, where he graduated through their youth ranks to score three goals in 38 appearances.

The 22 year-old however spent 2020-21 season at Vitesse where he enjoyed his best loan spell, with 11 goals and two assists.

Broja then spent the following season on loan to Southampton, which saw him contribute nine goals and one assist, before he spent 2022-23 campaign plus the first half of last season with Chelsea.

He however found himself loaned out to West London rivals, Fulham for the second half of the campaign, which saw him create just one assist in only eight appearances.

Broja represents Albania at international level with five goals in 23 caps since his senior debut in September 2020.
