2024-25 Premier League: Week Two – Crystal Palace v West Ham

Crystal Palace and West Ham look to recover from opening losses as they meet at Selhurst Park.

After failing to win their opening matches, victory would see Palace or West Ham secure their first win of the season.

Palace have no fresh injury concerns to report following their opening defeat at Brentford.

Matheus Franca (rib) remains absent.

West Ham could again be without Edson Alvarez after he suffered a hamstring injury in June.

Manager, Julen Lopetegui otherwise has no fresh injury concerns to report following the Hammers’ opening loss to Aston Villa.

When is Kick-Off?

Prediction

Having endured a wasteful display at Brentford amidst periods of dominance, Palace just need to refocus now because they do have the quality to get a win if can sort out their defensive sloppiness.

West Ham meanwhile need to crank up their attacking intensity because they looked sluggish at times against Villa – who looked more energetic and composed, so I would like to see more sharpness to their play here.

Palace though won’t be an easy place to go and if Oliver Glasner’s Eagles can build upon their opening weekend’s promise, I can see them getting a win here.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 West Ham

Result: Crystal Palace 0-2 West Ham
