2023-24 Premier League: Week 16 – Everton vs Chelsea

Everton continue their fight for Premier League survival against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

Victory could see Everton stay 17th but move four points clear of the drop, whilst Chelsea will remain in 10th position with a win.

Jordan Pickford is a doubt for Everton after he suffered a knee injury during their midweek win against Newcastle.

Amadou Onana (calf), James Garner (illness) and Seamus Coleman (fitness) are doubts but Andre Gomes (calf) and Dele Alli (hip) remain absent.

Chelsea will welcome Conor Gallagher back into contention after he was suspended for their midweek loss at Manchester United.

Malo Gusto (tendon), Christopher Nkunku (knee) and Noni Madueke (knock) are doubts and face late fitness tests.

Lesley Ugochukwu (knock), Trevorh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell (both hamstring), Wesley Fofana (ACL), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee) and Romeo Lavia (fitness) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Stat Attack

Prediction

Having managed to climb out of the relegation zone coming into this game following a clinical late win over Newcastle, Everton now need to take that renewed home belief and find more consistency in their end product after a wasteful opening hour.

Chelsea meanwhile continue to be inconsistent and their wasteful attacking at Man Utd was deservedly punished, whilst their defence often struggled with the Red Devils’ intensity so tighter quality will be needed if want to get a result here.

Goodison Park though has been bit of a sticky ground for the Blues in recent trips and with Everton starting to click at home, I can see them certainly giving Chelsea a tough scrap which could well end in a draw.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Chelsea

Result: Everton 2-0 Chelsea
