2023-24 Premier League: Week 12 – West Ham vs Nottingham Forest

West Ham meet Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium in a mid-table Premier League encounter.

Victory could put West Ham up to ninth if Brentford lose elsewhere, whilst Forest can leapfrog them with a win and go 11th in the table.

Kurt Zouma could return for West Ham after he missed their last three games in all competitions with a knock.

Forest could welcome Gonzalo Montiel back into contention following his recovery from a calf injury.

Chris Wood (both hamstring) and Divock Origi (hip) could face late fitness tests but Felipe (knee) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

West Ham host Nottingham Forest at London Stadium on Sunday 12 November in a 2pm GMT kick-off, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Sat mid-table with no wins in their last four league games, West Ham really need to start picking up wins if they want to start pushing more towards the European qualification spots.

David Moyes’ Hammers though were clinical in their Europa League win against Olympiacos on Thursday evening, even if the game felt largely flat and scrappy yet West Ham had that clinical quality so I would like to see them bring more intensity to this game.

Forest meanwhile were absolutely clinical in their league win over Villa in which they produced plenty of attacking play full of fluidity and intensity, whilst their defence was robust so I hope to see them bring more of that quality into this game.

Should Forest indeed do that and West Ham fail to improve much then I can see this game being a tough scrappy battle, which should yield a point apiece unless Forest can just tidy up their finishing.

Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Result: West Ham 3-2 Nottingham Forest
