2023-24 Premier League: Week Nine – Brentford vs Burnley

Brentford and Burnley look to bounce back from defeats in a Premier League encounter at Gtech Community Stadium.

Victory could see Brentford climb into 13th position if results elsewhere swing in their favour.

Burnley can move out of the relegation zone with a win if Luton fail to better their result – although a draw might be enough if Luton and Bournemouth both lose elsewhere.

Prediction

Despite no league wins in six matches and a serious injury crisis on top of Ivan Toney’s absence, Brentford haven’t played too badly despite conceding two injury-time goals against Man Utd, in a game where they played brilliantly aside from poor end product and late defensive errors.

Burnley meanwhile played well in the openining half against Chelsea but after they took the lead, their end product just desserted them whilst their defence was outclassed but they need to take the positives because this is a must-win if they want to keep pace with those above them.

Brentford though have been difficult to beat at home despite taking no home victories – with three draws and one loss in the league, so Burnley will need to be at their best here but if Mee is out then this has to be a chance that Burnley must take otherwise a draw might well be on the cards.

Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Burnley

Result: Brentford 3-0 Burnley
