Prediction

Having comfortably dispatched Norway and Cyrpus in their two home matches in this group so far, Spain will certainly come into this match full of confidence but must play with better quality and discipline than they did in Glasgow when they were ruthlessly beaten in March.

Scotland meanwhile will be eager to wrap up qualification here and will have confidence after their home win earlier this year, yet they were outclassed last time out by England in a friendly so they need to be more defensively solid and clinical if want to win here.

The first goal therefore will be key because if Spain get it, they should take another win otherwise Scotland might just snatch a draw if they can produce resilient defending, especially with Scott McTominay coming into this game in form after a late brace for Manchester United.

Defeating Spain on their home turf though is a fierce ask for any team.

Prediction: Spain 2-1 Scotland

Result: Spain 2-0 Scotland
