2023-24 Premier League: Week Eight – Wolves vs Aston Villa

Wolves entertain Aston Villa at Molineux in a West-Midlands derby encounter.

Victory would see Wolves climb to 13th in the table, whilst Aston Villa can go third with a win if Liverpool lose elsewhere.

Prediction

Following their clinical win over Man City with fantastic attacking play on the flanks, Wolves should believe that they can cause another shock if they play like that given their excellent home form against Villa.

Unai Emery’s Villa meanwhile dominated Zrinjski Moster yet lacked the end product to record a huge victory, instead having had to play the patient long game to snatch a clinical win which might well have to again be the case if Wolves go tight defensively.

Wolves’ flank play though is likely to play a crucial role because if Villa can resiliently limit their opportunities within the wider channels, they might just nick this if they’re clinical otherwise a score draw might look a fair outcome.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Aston Villa

Result: Wolves 1-1 Aston Villa
