2023-24 Premier League: Week Four – Arsenal vs Manchester United

Arsenal welcome Manchester United to Emirates Stadium in a huge Premier League encounter.

Victory would see Arsenal climb into the top four, whilst Man Utd can leapfrog the Gunners with a win and potentially go as high as fifth.

When is Kick-Off?

Arsenal host Man Utd at Emirates Stadium in a 4:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday 4 September, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Arsenal are unbeaten in three of their last five meetings against Man Utd (W2, D1, L2).
  • Man Utd are winless in their last five visits to Arsenal (D1, L4).
  • Bukayo Saka has scored in his last three Arsenal appearances against Man Utd (W2, L1).
  • Saka and Eddie Nketiah has scored in each of Arsenal’s two league games at home this season.
  • Man Utd have won just one of their last six away visits to London-based teams (W1, D2, L3).

Prediction

Having struggled with Fulham’s strong press and intensity last weekend, Arsenal will be relieved to have snatched a point given how uncharacteristically sloppy their defending was on top of a sluggish attack – aside from two clinical goals.

Man Utd meanwhile weren’t much better defensively against Nottingham Forest but grew into the game with a dominant attacking press, although they were lucky to win with a cheeky penalty which proved the difference.

Varane’s absence though adds further worry for Utd’s defensive ability because this game does feel likely to be all-out attack, which should make for a cracking contest which I think Arsenal might just edge.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United

Result: Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United
